This script lists all nodes. Alternative to outliner.

You can partially filter list something like "cu 3" (without quotas) which filters cube 3

installation: copy file into directory :

C:\Users\<YOUR_USER_NAME>\Documents\maya\scripts

usage:

source ktListNodesAndSelect;

type some partial names and press ENTER. click list to select.
